Course or programme?

By choosing your courses yourself you may put together your own education, with a degree as final destination.  There are both advantages and disadvantages with studying within a programme, as there are with putting together your own degree.

When choosing your own courses...

...you may decide exactly what courses you want to include in your degree

...you can decide in what order the courses should be taken

...it is easy to study different courses in different universities.

When choosing a programme...

...you are sure to be admitted to all courses

...you know in advance exactly when to study each course

...you know that the courses are selected by qualified persons in order to fit a certain specialisation.
