What is Minor Field Studies?

Sida, through its Minor Field Study scholarship, provides opportunities for students to spend minimum 8 weeks in a developing country in order to carry out a minor field study as the basis for a bachelor’s or master’s thesis.

The Minor Field Study-programme aims to broaden and deepen the international expertise of Swedish universities and colleges. MFS is managed by the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) .

The scholarship partially covers expenses during the period of study, and usually needs to be supplemented by, for example, student aid from CSN. The size of the scholarship is 27,000 SEK.
