Research interest

In my Ph.D. project I explore the normative aspects of transnational actor participation in global governance. Institutions and regimes previously controlled entirely by states are increasingly making advocacy networks, social movements, party associations, transnational corporations etc involved in policy making in various ways. Is this a process that strengthens the legitimacy of global governance? What exactly ought global governance institutions live up to in order to be legitimate? These questions require both development of normative theory as well as in-depth empirical investigation, my aim is to integrate both approaches in the project.

My project is part of the Transaccess research program directed by Professor Jonas Tallberg and funded by the European Research Council.
