The Olof Palme Professorial Chair

The Olof Palme Professorial Chair was created by the Swedish Parliament (Riksdagen) in 1987 in memorian of Sweden's prime minister Olof Palme who was assassinated in 1986. The purpose of the chair is to enable the Swedish Research Council to issue an annual invitation to an outstanding scholar from abroad to take up a visiting professorship at a Swedish university. The holder of the chair should be an internationally known and prominent researcher with special interest in areas which are important for the world peace in a wide sense. Lance Bennetts installation lecture took place on Friday October 29, 2010, at Stockholm University (see the link below).

Ph.D. course and workshop with Lance Bennet

At Stockholm University Lance Bennett will be participating in a graduate course entitled “Digital Media and Collective Action: Changing Modes of Citizenship and Participation in National and Transnational Settings.” The course is open for doctoral students from different disciplines.
