General exchange requirements

  • You need to be a registered student at one of our partner universities and there is a valid exchange agreement between your home university and the Department of Political Science at Stockholm University for the intended exchange period. 
  • You need to be nominated by the exchange co-ordinator at your home university before deadline.
  • You have studied a minimum of 1 year / 60 credits at university level. 

Language requirements 

Nominated students are expected to be highly proficient in English (spoken and written) in order to have a successful learning experience. We recommend exchange students to have a result of at least 550 points (paper-based test) or 213 points (computer-based test) on the TOELF-test. An official language test is not required, if your home university can proof your language proficiency. 

Students that have documentet proficiency in Swedish are welcome to apply for courses in Swedish.

 

Studies at the graduate level

You need to be registered student at graduate level at your home university and hold a bachelors degree with a major in political science or any other related field of studies. 

 

To study Political Science II incoming exchange students must have previously completed political science courses worth 30 ECTS, roughly corresponding to the course parts in Political Science I at Stockholm University.

To study Political Science III exchange students must have previously completed political science courses of 60 ECTS roughly corresponding to the course parts in Political Science I and II at Stockholm University. The number of places available on Political Science III is limited.
