The Almedalen Week (Almedalsveckan) is an annual political event taking place in and around Almedalen, a park in the city of Visby on the Swedish island Gotland, with speeches, seminars and other political activities.

Several of the Department’s researchers participated in different seminars. Tommy Möller attended a seminar about how the conditions for Swedish democracy have changed in recent years especially in relation to the “December agreement” that came about last year. Andreas Duit participated in a seminar about how research on environmental issues should be communicated. Both seminars were arranged by Stockholm University.

Max Waltman spoke on a seminar about how to legislate against commercial pornography. Martin Qvist participated in a seminar about integration arranged by the Swedish National Audit Office.  And Marja Lemne moderated a seminar arranged by the Swedish Political Science Association.
