The Department of Political Science accepts applications for graduate studies at two different dates.
Application deadline: 1 December 2011
Only applicants with financing arranged by e.g. a university department, a research centre, or by research grants may apply at this date. The same eligibility requirements holds for applicants with external financing as for students who apply for graduate studies financed by the Department of Political Science (see the requirements below). The same documents must be submitted (see below). In addition, a certificate must be enclosed from the university department, research centre or administrator of research grants, confirming that the applicant is guaranteed 36 months of fulltime financing for graduate studies.
Application deadline: 14 February 2012
This year the Department of Political Science admits and finances two new students. The competition for admittance to the Ph.D. programme financed by the Department is usually hard, normally more than 100 applicants compete for the positions. This application date is also open for students with external financing (see above).
The applications from students with external financing and admission to spring 2012 should reach the Department no later than 1 December 2011. The application cannot be completed after this date. The admission results will be announced in December.
The applications for the autumn semester should reach the Department no later than 14 February 2012. If an incomplete application is submitted, the missing documents must be clearly specified. The deadline for completion is 15 April 2012. The completion opportunity applies only to courses and parts of courses that have not been reported at the time of application. If an applicant intends to complete his or her application in this way, this should be stated in the application.
The admission results will be announced in June 2012, at the latest. Those who are offered a position in the PhD programme will be informed by mail. Confirmation of attendance must reach the Department within four weeks of receiving that offer.
All applicants are recommended to read the study plan and the regulations. Please see more information about the eligibility requirements.
The application should be made on a specific form.

Two copies of the completed application form along with the following documents (also in two copies) must be submitted:
Only certified copies of formal documents - not originals - should be submitted. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
The Department will normally only consider documents written in Danish, English, Norwegian, or Swedish. Documents in other languages must be translated before submission, and the translation must be certified as correct by an authorized translator. Copies of both the original documents and the translations must accompany the application.
