Andreas FøllesdalAndreas Føllesdal is professor of Political Philosophy and Director of Research at Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Oslo. He publishes within the field of international political theory and human rights in the wake of Europeanisation and globalisation. Birte SiimBirte Siim is a professor in Gender Research at University of Aalborg and the author of "The Politics of Inclusion and Empowerment - Gender, Class and Citizenship". Siim's particular research interests include: migration and citizenship, gender and power, globalisation, democracy and human rights, intersectional analysis, welfare state, political cultures, comparative studies of inequality regimes. Fay Lomax CookFay Lomax Cook is professor of human development and social policy and Director of the Institute for Policy Research, Northwestern University. Her research focuses on the interrelationships between public opinion and social policy, the politics of public policy, public deliberation, and the dynamics of public support for programs for older Americans.
*Her speech will discuss some of the findings from her recent book "Talking Together: Public Deliberation and Political Participation in America", changes in political participation over time and the "Obama effect". Homepage »
